International Research Program

The PHARMO Institute has set up an International Research Program with the aim to assist clients in coordinating and executing multi-database studies in Europe. Examples of studies coordinated by PHARMO include assessment of:

• European estimates of incidence/prevalence
• Trends and patterns of disease and healthcare utilisation
• Safety monitoring (EMA)
• Market uptake / drug utilization

• Coordinating Center for tailor-made multi-database / pan-European studies
• Partner in industry-funded studies
  • Different post-approval safety (PASS) studies
  • Many multi-database studies
• Partner in EC-funded studies
  • including SOS, ARITMO, EU-ADR, SAFEGUARD
• Partnerships with university based and commercial data sources

Approach

The PHARMO approach aims to work most efficiently with the different source populations, database structures and privacy/governance issue of databases in Europe.
