Perinatal Registry (PRN)

The Perinatal Registry (PRN) is governed by the Perinatal Registration Association in the Netherlands ('Stichting Perinatale Registratie Nederland; PRN') and was initiated by the National General Practitioner Association (LHV), the National Midwife Association (KNOV), the National Obstetrician and Gynecology Association (NVOG), and the Association for Pediatrics (NVK). In the PRN information regarding pregnancy, delivery and care for the newborn is registered. Pregnancies with a gestation of at least 16 weeks are captured. This information is captured in three registers:

  1. National midwife register (LVR1) which includes information captured by midwife practices.
  2. National gynaecologist register (LVR2) which includes information captured by gynaecologists
  3. National registry for neonatology (LNR) which includes information from pediatricians and neonatologists.
